We have been informed that, as a result of the "Revenue Amendment Related to the Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act of 2010" we must raise meal prices for SY2013-2014. This increase is being mandated by the USDA and New Mexico Student Nutrition Bureau. We think it will mandate that we raise meal prices by about .50 cents or more over the next few years.
Instead of raising the prices all at once we intend to raise them incrementally over several years. This is allowed under the provisions mandated. So, as not to burden families, we intend to raise meal prices next year by fifteen cents bringing lunch costs:
from $1.85 to $2.00 for elementary
from $2.10 to $2.25 for secondary
Current breakfast prices and adult meal prices will stay the same.
